I am just a man, not a superhero like that.
Do I wear tights or a cape?
Have I stopped a mugging or rescued a kitty cat,
Let alone saved a city from a blast? No, none of these.
Perhaps you see me as a superhero with the strength of an ox.
With morals great and a heart of gold.
Please don't think such things and put me in that box.
For I am just a man, flawed as I am.
While I may not have super hearing, I can heard the pain you endure.
And my arms are able to hold you and make you feel safe.
Even if I can't fight crime, I can help you fight your fears all the more.
But does this make me a superhero, not even close.
A man I am,
Before me stood five women.
The first said she'd always love me,
Number two said her beauty would never fail,
Still the third claimed that she'd rub my back after a long day's work
The fourth told of the children she'd bear
And the family we'd build together,
But it was the last I dated,
For she made me dinner and told me she cared by her actions.
